Project Title:      Access to Knowledge Under International Copyright Law: A Rights-Based Comparative Study
Dr. Mahalwar’s research delves into the relationship between international copyright law and access to knowledge. Her study explores how the maximalist approach of IP Regime affects the larger public interests of developing nations by “enclosing” the knowledge goods. She deals with the harmonization of international copyright laws with national laws and its impact on educational institutions by presenting a doctrinal analysis of academic copying and course-packs issues. The research mainly deals with the qualitative evaluation of the globalized copyright norms and their judicial treatments addressing the educational copying. She hopes that the outcome of the research shall be useful for policymakers, academicians and future researchers.
