Mellon Visiting Professors

Jill Anderson Teaching

The Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies hosts Mellon Visiting Professors each semester. They teach two courses per semester on topics of their own choosing.  The visiting professors take an active role in working with undergraduate students by making informal presentations, holding office hours, making a formal presentation to the wider community interested in Latin America and the Caribbean at Duke, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the surrounding area, sometimes as part of the annual Consortium conference. They also participate in the Carolina-Duke Consortium's interdisciplinary working groups and other activities. These professors provide valuable contributions to our programming and our community here on Duke's campus. Their visits are mutually beneficial- allowing scholars to leverage Duke resources and enrich DUCIGS' offerings.
