Join Professor Bruce Jentleson (Public Policy & Political Science, Duke) as the Program in American Grand Strategy welcomes Ambassador William Burns in a conversation centered around his new book, The Back Channel: Reflections on a Career in Diplomacy.

Ambassador Burns is a former career Foreign Service Officer who served ast U.S. ambassador to Russia from 2005 to 2008. His diplomatic career spans three decades and he is only the second serving career diplomat in history to become deputy secretary of state.
