Global Asia Initiative Director, Prof. Prasenjit Duara who is also the President of the Association of Asian Studies (AAS) will host the Presidential Plenary Panel at the Association of Asian Studies Annual Conference. The conference will take place in Boston from March 19-22, 2020. The panel which will be chaired by Prof. Duara represents one of the themes developed in the workshop –‘Rivers in the Anthropocene: Global Challenges and Local Responses’ which was organized by the GAI at the Duke Kunshan University from July 6-7, 2019.  The panel will focus on wetlands in the Yangzi and Ganges river systems.
