In their recent report, "A U.S. Diplomatic Service for the 21st Century," former Ambassadors Nicholas Burns, Marc Grossman, and Marcie Ries lay out "10 Actions to Re-imagine American Diplomacy and Reinvent the Foreign Service."

The report, produced by the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard's Kennedy School, was released in mid November. It is available online: https://bit.ly/3nLUTmb

The authors mention the DUCIGS/Rethinking Diplomacy Program (RDP), particularly the work done by RDP Fellows, former Ambassador Robert Pearson, former Ambassador Patrick Duddy, Dr. Benjamin L. Schmitt (Harvard University), and RDP Director, Prof. Giovanni Zanalda, emphasizing the need "to integrate science and technology into diplomacy, to recruit people with expertise in cyber, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and financial technologies."
